Agro-chemicals major UPL acquires Arysta LifeScience for $4.2 bn.
Sterling Team and Platinum Consultants
The client acquired a $4.2 billion American multinational present in 60 countries, which had grown through multiple acquisitions, resulting in various ERP systems in each business unit. The task was to unify these systems under SAP ECC 6.0 within 18 months, a challenge consulting partners were hesitant to take on.
The Global CIO formed a core team with partner support from all major consulting firms, alongwith Spectr. Labs, a new but experienced team alongside well-known names like IBM, Accenture, Deloitte, and EY.
Spectr. Labs team proved their capability on the ground and were assigned to lead projects in South Korea and Belgium, alongwith others.
Leading from the front
The solution Spectr. Labs came up with combined Platinum Consultants with real world practicality. Everyone knew that the systems had to be updated, the real challenge was updating them without disrupting the whole organization in a negative way. The solution was to introduce proper workload management augmented through our veteran platinum consultants
This allowed the workers to be involved in the job instead of feeling like they had been made redundant by technology.
The biggest challenge was that the board gave 18 months to the Global CIO to implement the global SAP template across 60 countries of the acquired company. The acquired company had a mix of ERP systems, including SAP, Sacala and others. The speed and quantum of program was gigantic and none of any one consulting firm said yes to the terms and condition.
The Global CIO took a call and formed a team of SAP consultants, Project and Program Managers, with consortium of all leading consulting firms, Spectr. Labs not in the league, but yet stood tall in individual consultant capability and joined the consortium.
Teams with a mix based on country specific requirement were formed, and with a stringent schedule the project kicked-off
Each and every country go-live happened as per schedule, including Belgium, which went live under the on-ground leadership of Platinum Consultants from Spectr. Labs.
